The „Ruhr Stadium“ opened as early as 1911 and provides VfL Bochum with one of the most traditional competition arenas in German professional football. The "Rewirpower Stadium," as it was renamed in 2006,Gesch offers more than 30,000 visitor places. Behind the northern stand the football club erected a five-storey stadium centre, which provides facilities for the committee’s office, the department for junior players, the Board, the team and the reception of VIP guests. In 2010 the Rewirpower Stadium will be the venue for the U20 women’s football world championship.
