Energy Globe Nomination for NAWAPUR
On November 24th, Austria’s best environmental achievements were presented at the Energy Globe Austria Gala in Wels. The award, created 7 years ago by Wolfgang Neumann of Upper Austria, has become the most distinguished and most renowned environmental prize in the world and is awarded annually on a regional, national and even international basis. The mission of the Energy Globe is to present as many successful, sustainable projects as possible to the public to demonstrate that good solutions already exist for most of our environmental problems and to motivate people to implement them in other areas, too.

In 2006, a total of 700 projects were submitted from all over Austria. Wolfgang Neumann: "These are marvelous projects that, all together, constitute a notable achievement for the environment. Big and small, they all prove that it’s possible to conserve resources and reduce the impact on our climate, thereby significantly improving our quality of life."

The Energy Globe was awarded in the categories Earth, Fire, Water, Air and Youth. The sobering thought behind the category “Earth” is that, by the year 2025 a world population of 8 billion will have to be fed, clothed and housed.

"Managing our land and our soil carefully and with sustainability in mind is therefore the last bid. The Earth is also being threatened by air and water pollution. The inseparability of the cycle of the four elements becomes particularly apparent here. The Energy Globe aims to draw attention to this and to present solutions that will keep our ecosystem intact."

We are proud that Eurofoam, with its "NAWAPUR Energy Foam", as one of 5 of a total of 47 submitted projects, was nominated for both the Upper Austrian Globe and the Energy Globe Austria.
