Cutting
Sophisticated cutting technology is the heart and soul of every foam converting company. Eurofoam offers you a variety of techniques to achieve the best results for you

Horizontal and vertical
Slabstocks are trimmed vertically and horizontally using band knife machines. Razor-sharp, steel band knives cut the material to the desired size.
Another technique is to cut several short slabs on so-called carousels to different widths (from 2 mm) horizontally to the panels. A vacuum-suction base ensures that the slab is held firmly in place for precise, even cutting.

Nub profile cuts
Using nub profile cutting machines, special surface structures can be created to customer specification with respect to the height of the nub to the foam base. To achieve this, two rollers evenly covered with nub studs are run against each other on either side of a foam panel and compress it. A knife splits the panel horizontally exactly in the center. The surface structure of the rollers is imprinted on the two finished parts. This is called an egg-carton pattern.

CNC copying
Using computer controlled (CNC) cutting machines, 2-D horizontal and vertical pieces are cut. Digitalized drawings can be transferred directly to the CNC machine. We can digitalize conventional drawings very easily in advance. The fully electronically-controlled machines guarantee precision cutting whilst minimizing wastage. Depending on the type of machine, continuous bandknives or continuous oscillating knives (serrated) are used. Special 3D shapes can be cut on carousel cutting machines.

Bevel cuts
Bevel cutting machines are used to produce wedge-shaped cuts. The edges can be rounded with milling machines to a specified radius.
